Project Objectives:

To evaluate the current practices of biomedical waste segregation in healthcare facilities and identify possible areas for improvement.

To explore various treatment technologies used for biomedical waste management in healthcare settings and assess their effectiveness.

To investigate recent innovations in biomedical waste management within the healthcare sector and their impact on sustainability and public health.

Project Tasks:

Conduct a literature review on the topic of biomedical waste management in healthcare facilities.

Interview healthcare administrators and waste management staff to gather insights on current practices and challenges related to biomedical waste segregation and treatment.

Research different treatment technologies such as autoclaving, microwave treatment, and chemical disinfection, and compare their efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Identify and analyze recent innovations in biomedical waste management, such as the use of robotics and automation, digital tracking systems, and waste-to-energy technologies.

Develop recommendations for healthcare facilities to improve their biomedical waste management practices based on the findings of the research.
