
Discharge process is a key element in bringing patient satisfaction which is also an important indicator of Quality of Services The understanding of patient engagement from the point of admission to the time of discharge is important in streamlining the process of discharge. The patient discharge includes multiple elements starting from clinical administration, non clinical administration and also operations via third parties.
There could be multiple points of minor delays that mountain up to cause a bigger delay. However there are always mitigation prospects that need to be understood and effective action must be taken proactively to avoid such delays.
The purpose of this study is to identify impeding systematic delays in the patient discharge process, quantify the extent of the delays, and recommend performance improvement initiatives to expedite discharge turnaround times.
This project is to be conducted at a hospital set up in order to understand the intricacies and aspect of process related delays.
